Buddhist symbol of the lotus as metaphor for recovery from addiction

Louisville Recovery Sangha is a Buddhist-based addiction recovery group in Louisville, Kentucky.  We host peer-led weekly meetings.  Each meeting is open to all who wish to explore a Buddhist–based recovery program concerning any type of addiction.  As a Buddhist group, or sangha, we are a spiritual fellowship and become wise friends to one another; meetings allow us to give and receive support to strengthen our recovery.   Our meetings generally include about 20 minutes of guided meditation followed by reading from a relevant text.  We then allot time for a focused, open discussion. We are an abstinence-based program.  We support each other’s Buddhist practices and strongly encourage members to develop a daily meditation practice.
